Christmas have come and gone. As we get ready for the New Year, it is time to take down the Christmas decorations including the Christmas tree. The City of Frisco encourages residents to participate in the Christmas tree recycling program instead of throwing your Christmas tree away. In the Frisco TX Christmas tree recycling program, these trees are grounded for compost.

Frisco TX Christmas Tree recycling program. FREE Pick up at curbside.

Here’s what you need to do:

  • Remove supports, electrical wiring, ornaments, nails and tinsel.
  • Place tree at least three feet away from your trash and recycling carts on your regularly scheduled collection day.
  • Trees must be 5 feet and/or 60 lbs. or smaller. If the tree is over 5 feet or 60 lbs., it must be cut into sections less than 5 feet or less than 60 lbs.

Do not cover trees with a plastic bag. The trash man will not pick up.

Also, flocked trees (trees with the white snow spray material) are not acceptable in this program. However, these flocked trees can be collected for a $10 charge by arranging pickup directly through C.W.D. at 972-392-9300.

If you live in a Frisco TX apartment or prefer to participate in the Do-It-Yourself disposal, it is also available for all trees at the Custer Road Transfer Station. Please bring utility bill and driver’s license to prove Frisco TX residency. It is a FREE service.

Let’s keep Frisco GREEN by participating in the Frisco TX Christmas Tree recycling program.
